Our Founder's Vision

EventRegistration.com is a registration, ticketing and merchandising solution for people who plan, coordinate and promote meetings and events. While the concept was seeded in 1997, it wasn't until its rebirth in 2005 that Founder and CEO, NaNoshka Johnson began to fulfill her personal passion to give back.

Many business owners/entrepreneurs struggle with meeting their business goals while nurturing personal needs. Johnson was no exception. Faced with this internal struggle, she began to challenge her assumption that work and community take place in two different arenas. This new awareness led to the question, "Why wait until I've completed my professional life before following my non-profit, humanistic passion?" She began merging her ideas of work - what she does well - with her ideas of community - her passion. The result was, simply put, "Web Based Event Registration Made Easy" meets "The Gift of Giving".

Living in San Francisco and being a part of the tourism industry presented Johnson with a dramatic observation. The City has an extremely diverse population down to its significant number of homeless residents.

Obviously, being homeless gravely affects the disenfranchised who walk the streets of some of our bustling cities such as, San Francisco, New York and Washington, D.C. with no place to call home. Additionally, homelessness also affects the conference and tourism industry with meetings in many of these urban areas where homeless populations are the most dense. It will take innovative programs, in addition to money, to help solve the problem so that business leaders can confidently hold their events in whatever city they choose. Through EventRegistration.com, Johnson believes an opportunity exists to address this issue.

Tackling the homeless issue is really about people helping people who have been left behind for whatever reason - the gift of giving. EventRegistration.com will provide a resource for business leaders who many have encountered members of the homeless community and have wanted to do more, but didn't know where to turn.

"Good people with good ideas are tackling this problem every day" said Johnson. "I'm not trying to replace these people or the programs that are already in place. My efforts are meant to bring a new voice to the table." Johnson says money alone cannot solve the problems of homelessness. A combination of money and innovative ideas will be the key success factor. In mid 2006, EventRegistration.com will relaunch its new website with a portal through which creative concepts and capital can be joined.
